Flat was very clean, recently refirbushed with new furniture and appliances. Three people sleep in the same bed room-living room but still comfortable. Nice balcony on the quiet side of the building. Good location of the flat for going anywhere in Berlin by public transport.
No mention of the use of gas boiler in the advert! Many legaly challengable issues related with the offered accommodation: No official documents to prove the safety of the gas boiler and its latest annual inspection and general maintenance. No carbon monoxide detector in the flat! Furthermore, the landlady showed complete lack of knowledge of the potential risks related to the use of gas boiler, and appeared to have no idea what we were talking about while requiring to see the documents for the boiler, and why were we concerned! No fire alarm and smoke detector in the flat. No issuing of an official receipt upon paying the rent for the accommodation and increasingly suspicious delay of receiving a receipt after we asked for one. Vacuum cleaner did not work - after 4 days of living there I wanted to vacuum clean but the vacuum cleaner did not function properly. Ironing board present but no iron.
The gas boiler is serviced once a year. This is compulsory in Germany. He can not operate without maintenance. Since I bought the apartment in January, I do not have the papers of the last maintenance. I explained to the tenants at length upon arrival. The vacuum cleaner is new and works only properly. It was agreed that the tenant leave at the latest by 11. When the cleaning crew arrived, the tenants were still in bed! The only objection to this tenant. The apartment was left in a very poorly managed. It's always amazing how these people just criticize everything. I can only point out once again that the matter was discussed with the boiler. He is in a proper condition and may be operated at all without the approval and annual review by a specialist.
